Hope on the Borderline: The Tana Family Newsletter

December 3rd, 2025

Our family is built different. But isn’t every family?

Judah was born in a small Aboriginal town in Australia, and I come from a homeschooling family in Ohio. Min Min Soe is from Burma and is already a husband, father—and now making us grandparents! Zz will tell you she’s from Bangkok and is Thai. Who knows what Sirichai will say?

We live in our own house on a big property with 30 people, surrounded by four languages. I despised rice as a kid, yet my children happily eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if offered.

What really makes us different? Our ability to adapt and thrive under pressure while remaining steadfast to the calling God has placed on us. The secret sauce for our family’s longevity? Jesus. He’s the author of our story, and we couldn’t be more in love with the life He is writing through us.

Judah’s personality and calling make him truly unique—sometimes we joke that all he needs to recharge is three deep breaths before he keeps going again. For me I require a lot more to rejuvenate.

For nearly 14 years of marriage, Judah and I have dedicated our lives to mentoring and serving those God places in our path. Judah has served along the Thailand–Myanmar border since 2006, and I joined the work in 2011. Together, we serve children, youth, and families affected by long-term political unrest, focusing on education, mentorship, and supporting victims of human trafficking—particularly those forced into criminal activity.

Our mission is to cultivate a life of pure beauty—to minister to hearts, influence change, and advance personal development. Through lasting friendships and education, we empower young men and women to reach their full potential, and together we work to impact the globe.

What God Has Done in 2025
Through Global Advance Projects, we have:
• Opened a visitor center and hosted multiple teams
• Supported over a thousand victims of forced criminality in release and repatriation
• Opened our TIP Advocacy Office with Acts of Mercy International
• Seen our church grow on campus
• Welcomed new boys to our campus and celebrated students attending university
• Watched Judah lead sports and the 24/7 team at School of Tomorrow’s Regional Student Convention, impacting 600 students

Family highlights:
• Family trip to Europe with my parents (thanks Mom and Dad!)
• Zz started Grade 1 and is reading and writing in Thai; Sirichai turned 2 and is bilingual in English and Karen
• Judah recovered from herniated disc surgery

Looking Ahead to 2026
We plan to continue serving faithfully on the border while expanding our reach for our organization and advocacy for trafficking victims. To make this possible, we invite you to partner with our family directly. All gifts support our family’s living expenses, children’s needs, and travel for advocacy and ministry trips.

  1. Africa Advocacy Trip – $8,000 approx.
We will travel with our co-workers from Acts of Mercy to Africa to visit and advocate for released and at-risk victims. Zz and Sirichai will join us. Your gift covers travel and living expenses for our family while we serve.
  2. Australia Family + Advocacy Trip – $6,000 approx.
Later in the year, we will travel to reconnect with ministry partners and family. This is our first trip together as a family since moving back to Thailand nearly nine years ago. Your gift covers our family’s travel and living costs.
